Lafayette, LA –

October’s STEM Saturday is Trick-or-Treat at the BOO-seum, and it’s sure to be a whole lot of SPOOKY FUN for the entire family! Join us on Saturday, October 24 from 12-3pm.

Guests of all ages are invited to dress in costume for a costume contest. Costume contest judging will be from 12-1:30pm with winners announced at 2pm. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Best Overall, Most Scientific, Spookiest and Silliest. Students and volunteers will present Halloween-themed STEM activities set up at indoor trick-or-treat stations throughout the museum. Join the search among the exhibits for a mini pumpkin scavenger hunt.

Win prizes and treats, and be on the look out for special guest appearances and photo opportunities. We are especially excited for the return of local Bast Alpha Garrison members of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming community. We thank our returning sponsors: All Seasons Nursery for providing pumpkins and decor and Super 1 Foods for providing a portion of the event’s trick-or-treat giveaways. Thanks also goes to Madeleine Groth, D.D.S. for sponsoring a portion of non-candy treats for trick-or-treaters.

Bring your buckets and your bags for a SPOOK-tacular time with us to celebrate the season. All activities included with regular museum admission. All ages welcome. STEM Saturdays are made possible through a grant from Halliburton.
