The UL Lafayette Science Museum offers field trips Wednesday through Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Most groups spend about 1.5 – 2 hours at the museum. We are also open to the public at this time. If you have questions, please send us a message.

Field Trip Information

Take your group on a fun-filled adventure to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Science Museum! We offer field trips and activities for different age ranges and neurodiverse learners.

Who can book a field trip?

Groups of 15 or more are eligible to receive a group field trip rate. One group payment of cash or check is required to receive reduced admission rates. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

What is the cost?

  • Youth Ages 3 – 18: $5
  • School Faculty: complimentary
  • All Additional Adult Chaperones: $3 each

What is included?

Each field trip includes access to all exhibits and a 30-minunte planetarium show. Each show is restricted to 80 people. Groups larger than 80 can book additional shows. Book early to be sure we can accommodate your group. The museum also provides a lunch space if needed.

How is payment made?

One group payment of cash or check is required to receive reduced admission rates. Your full payment is due upon arrival on the day of your field trip. We will send you an invoice with the total cost based upon the number of students, teachers, and chaperones you provided a week before your field trip. Changes to the reservation numbers cannot be changed after the invoice is sent and refunds will not be given.

Please be on time.

Although we understand things happen, arriving after your scheduled time might affect your trip itinerary. We will try to accommodate you, but you may not be able to attend the planetarium show.

Field trips are offered Wednesdays through Fridays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please check our calendar for morning and afternoon field trips. Planetarium shows are offered at 10 am or 12:30 pm each day.
